I know its off topic, sorry Bosvelk, by the way thats 1 sweet pot :handgestures-thumbupleft: Sam how much gas do you use per run, I now have access to free gas :teasing-tease: and am thinking about a gas fired boiler. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

If ya cant get 30lt to a rolling boil it sounds like your underpowered,60-80lt would prolly need a bit more again to get a rolling boil going ,wich can help reduce burns on the base, boiling chips help ta even out the heat so no hot spots develop, they are probably only worth a try if ya find your getting scorch marks or burnt spots on ya base.cheers hillzabilly ;-)

Yes boiling chips will help.
It gives the bubbles somewhere to form.
Almost like mentos in diet coke.

Found a HP reg that worked :) I remembered I got given 3 oxy cutter/ braising sets so I though I'd try one of those regs
Much better :) got it to 12l/h
Striped 140L down to about 26L
I'll do the other 140 tomoro and then hopefully do a spirits run on Saturday :)
Oh and gen two is on its way :)

12L/hr is more like it! That's one helluva stripper you've got there.

Once you hit tails (you'll know when you do), crank it up and strip down to 20%. Save up your heads and tails for an all feints run :handgestures-thumbupleft:

A small finger length piece of either stainless scrubby or copper mesh, loosely rolled and pushed into the outlet that feeds into the parrot,I leave 10mm or so pokeing out ,reminds me its there and makes it easy ta get out for cleaning ,may help reduce huffing.cheers hillzabilly ;-)

Would you do an all fients run in a standard pot still?

Some of your best flavoured product will come from an all feints run. It's up to you, but if you keep stripping as much rum as you are now you'll have plenty of feints!

My best rum was an all feints rum :handgestures-thumbupleft:

As slow as you can, zacs suggestions to me worked great.
You want an unbroken toothpick like stream, back the controller down till you get a broken stream then slowly bump it up till its unbroken.
Took me all day to run 30L low wines. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The size of the still doesn't make a difference to the speed you should take off on a spirit run ;-) 5L/hr is definitely too fast. Turn the gas down until you get a broken stream, then bump it up just a touch.

That's basicly what I did had a broken stream and bumped it up and when I timed it it was about 4.5-5L hr
