You'll want your needle valve a lot closer to the head ;-)

I'm still not entirely sure how these double reducer bokas work?

The pipe between the two reducers explains all :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Go as tall as you can, without cutting into the ceiling :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I like how this model doesnt require the 30deg plates. Could also use threaded nipples and have it all in pieces to knock it down if you ever needed to move house can't wait

I drilled the hole in my lid today i went 32mm as its ment to be vented to atmosphere dont know if i went to big but my cooling water inlet goes through it as well and cut slots in the top of the tower for the water outlet to go through

G-day Ben ,I had a double reducer still for a time ,one thing I did not do was check that the alcohol dripping from the coil went to one side ,instead it went straight back down and when I opened the valve nothing came out.So I bent the bottom few coils to one side and tested in the luandry sink with a dribble from the tap ,sorted :handgestures-thumbupleft: cheers hillzabilly

Good idear that should help your condencer's efficency,a small piece of scrubby hanging to one side may help guide the product to your collection cup ;-) cheers hillzabilly

With the column mate ,what ever height ya decide on ,consider splitting it into 2 pieces .ie 1.6meters=2@800mm,reasons are when stripping or running as a pot still with no packing and valve open all the way you may not want all that height, its also easy to install packing and the still packs up smaller .For the price of a couple of tri clamp unions well worth it I reckon :handgestures-thumbupleft: cheers hillzabilly
