3 inch boka

Postby CyBaThUg » Fri Nov 18, 2016 4:29 pm

Needing advice am thinking of doing a 3 inch boka with a two inch coil that was made by mac just curious if the coil will be strong enough to cool the vapour and how long of a packed section should I have if there is a specific or recommended height due to the smaller condenser coil

Short answer Yes it will work. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
There will be a point that it will get over powered and not function properly, but what that point is I can't help sorry.

It looks like it would handle a 2400w element :-B

Yes this will b going on a 2400 element once built but I will make the two inch part removable so when my bigger still is made I can upgrade the condensor

No but usually bokas are quite tall so that they can fit more packing and achieve a higher %.

Cyba, there is a formula (somewher, as i cant put my finger on it) for col height, too tall is no good if u dont have all the other stuff right., ie. power you can throw at it, adequate cooling. I found it when i was doing my build. Personally, i would max out with a new condenser now as you will never have to re do one.I wound a double helix coldfinger around 400mm long, knocks back absolutely everything, cant find the pic, sorry...very happy with it.

It's not an option for me at this point to get another coil and I want to utilise the one I have had laying around
