Pot\Reflux column

This is not my own idea but I thought I would run it passed you, fine people, to see if it will work. I currently have a T500 and a 5 Star Pot column, I was going to get rid of both and make a 3 inch boka column but then I came across this idea.
Rather than ditching the 5 star column, I could replace the 2" packed section with a 3" packed section and add a 3" Deflegmator, this way in pot mode the Deflegmator will be off and in reflux mode it will be on.
Would this work, if so would it ne known as CM?
