Postby mjcj01 » Sun Feb 17, 2019 10:00 am

Happy Sunday fellow distillers....currently doing a spirit run through my CM reflux column. My ABV starts about 94 temperature adjusted. At what ABV do you stop run?

With a neutral spirit run ,I stop collection when the ABV drops below 90%.cheers hillzabilly :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Is the 90% just for hearts.....or do you go lower for tails?

With a reflux still even tho the ABV is 90% you will already be well into tails with a very obvious smell, and not worth collecting any more wich will only taint ya next run, different stratergy ta rum or whiskey were you would collect down to 20% or less ,wich will add flavour and character to further batchs.cheers hillzabilly ;-)
