How are you all managing your cooling water on your stills?

Advice: if your using a reflux still or bubbler use a tank and pump. Straight from tap sux. Pot still wont matter much :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Straight from the tap (town water)and then run a hose into the house tank which is plumbed to toilets and laundry. No water lost that way and I don’t have to run a pump. You would need to check if your town water pressure is consistent.

Recirculating about 20 L through a twin fan radiator with a little fountain pump.

Dedicated 500L water tank + recirculating pump. Very glad I upgraded from using the tap! Much smoother, better controlled runs.

:handgestures-thumbupleft: consistent flow and temperature are key.

20 000 liter house water tank with a $5 submersible pump. Heres the link to the pump.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DC-3W-5-5V- ... 2749.l2649

Has been running reliably for about two years(!!) now. A small DC power supply where I can select several voltages between 6 - 12V adjusts the rate of flow of water. The still is not large (10 liter), but I tried it recently on a bigger milk churn still and it worked well.
