Never been convinced with off set heads, the restrictions, condensing, complexity etc

Long term living with the bastards output rates become an issue...and stills as well.

good luck you seem settled on the build...

Im convinced its a great build, if its not it wont be hard to change. Splitting of the vapour and the simplicity of the vapour return are the things im most happy with. Looking back I wish I had gone 2" as 3" has tripled the price. I dont think I will have a problem with output as im all the way to the product condenser at full 1.5". Once im finished I will post my result, I still have a few bits and pieces to arrive and I will need to solder some ss to copper pipe to fully integrate the 1.5" gate valve. I looked at some comp fittings but they were $100 each and I would need two, instead gonna use a 1.5" hex cut in two and soldered to 1.5" copper pipe. At the moment im in the garage assembling the liebig, filing out the ring is a pain.

Crimped the inner tube on my liebig with a nut cracker. Pretty happy with the results.

Bloke,

on the pump question,

most put a at least 1 generally more irrigation Tee's ewith those inline $3 valves in the feed line from pump...makem within easy reach when piump submersed...used to bleed off presure/flow..I've one real small pond pond use ocassionally it still needs a Tee & valve 3/4 open as a guide. The bigger pump has 3T's and valves with 2 wide open and 1 1/2 closed.

Ahh ok! That makes perfect sense thanks for the tip. I was thinking to my self earlier if I even need a pump. Maybe take directly from tap and just feed back into the tank? Water coming from there anyway! Trying to get a manual for the tank as the house is tank/ municipal hybid.

I know its a no no to use brass but it will be ok for the recirculating water? Even if its being pumped into the tank?

Im real happy with it there is nothing more for me to do now except wait. The keg boiler is at the welder getting a rather nifty drain and adjustable legs! Also waiting on a few odds and ends from mcstill. Wired up the elements today and im very happy with them.
Going to remove the brass out of my potstill and start stripping low wines so im ready for spirit runs. Started designing my 3" potstill keep an eye out for my new thread 8-)
