Run #2 of my 200ltr bwko. Got the thumper on this time so hope she runs a bit better with no puking :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'll probably be hanging out in the pub if anyone wants to catch up.

45 litre @ 40% ujsm spirit run, added 4 tons of Saunders malt extract to the wash ( 200 litres ), should be nice after 6 months on French oak.

I know, it should read as 4 tin's of Saunders malt extract, not 4 tons. Stupid fat fingers.

That’s added to the fermenter not the boiler...

Yes its a fermentable made from barley malt. starch conversion is done than concentrated. Like the beer brewing cans but without added hops :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yep went ok, maybe a little low on yeld but hard to tell. I had about 6 ltrs of faints that went in with it and pulled 16 300ml jars and about 4ltrs of tails. I was running late for a thing I had to go to so pulled the pin early and stripped the tails earlier than I would have thats why so many tails. I'm about to do cuts so I'll let you know how I go. Then I'll be back in the seat for another run.

I definitely stripped early the last jar went into hearts but thats ok those tails just went back in with this run :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I turfed the first jar into my cleaning supply, the next 5 went into faints/the boiler for this run and the rest hearts. I ended up with 4.1 ltrs of 65% so wasn't too bad :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Sweet I kept 2.5l at 55% from my spirit run all the way down to about 40%. The peat really does linger in the tails I cant taste tails in it but I bet they are there. Hopefully ages well :-B

Just finished my cuts, took 4.5 litres of heads, 7.5 litres of hearts and not sure on tails as I ran them straight into the feints keg. Watered the hearts down to 65% and put 4.5 litres on French oak, 2 litres on American oak and then watered the rest down to 40% and took 3 and a bit bottles of that.
