Currently half way through a spirit run on a mixed bag of rum low wines, all molasses with rum yeast from various generations and a 5L Demi of feints thrown in for good measure.

Running the in-line thumper with some new 5 star bubble caps. Ended up stopping mid way through the heads to remove a plate as the abv is hitting higher than I want. That was an experience.

Another marathon run today, 50L of a ngw/ wbab stripped gen 2, so about 40L of stripped wash with some straight wash for a bit more flavour. Up to jar 20 now and still going strong.
After Friday’s marathon run I’m probably 6 months ahead, even with my drinking habits :laughing-rolling:

Made beer 2 weeks ago, thought with the used grains make a sugar head wash.
Not the most pleasant smelling washes (slightly vomit like) in the end.
Ran it today, spirit tasting pretty good off the still. Time on oak will tell. Be using French dominoes

Hi All, this is my 1st post.

Pear Brandy....
Made from 8L of Pear Nectar from the supermarket, and with 2kg of Sugar in my 15L fermenter. I used some Turdbo yeast as I got heaps to get rid of.
It's distilling right now, in my reflux still without the glass pebbles installed.
Will see how it tastes later, I am thinking to mature it in some oak to soften it up a bit, unlike the Weiss brand, which I liked at $40 a bottle but is now $50 a bottle. Ouch.
Mine is more like $10 a bottle. Just for Xmas mind you

Just got the still up to the boil on the Manzano Chilli wash and while decantering it got to taste the wash and man :teasing-nutkick: is it nice and hot. It will be interesting to see if the flavour carries thru.

Cheers Bryan

Is that a combo flow meter and needle valve or one of each?
