Where to buy molasses on Gold Coast

Hey guys,

Pretty much as name suggests, looking to buy molasses from somewhere on the Gold Coast, brisbane or northern nsw area.

My mate gifted me a 10L drum of food grade molasses he got from a sugar mill in northern NSW. Was down doing a job on site and picked it up.

The drum is now empty :( and I'm looking for more.

Did a little ringing around to bundy sugar mill last week, got put onto two suppliers here that are supposed to stock food grade but both turned up no good.

Before I start ringing around to local sugar mills etc, does anyone have a place they buy from? Would prefer foodgrade but not gonna rule out using blackstrap.

Going by news reports the local mill is broken and the sugar cane has to be carted to the NSW mill so that is probably your best chance of buying from NSW.

For stockgrade there's a joint in Burleigh West. Google will bring up a name for you. Its on same rd as where Rays Outdoors used to be b4 it closed. Cant remember his pricing tho. I get mine from Beenleigh feed supplies for $1.25 L from memory. I dont know where you would get food grade from.

Bernie's Produce if stock food grade is OK have purchased 20 liters and they sold in a recycled container that had tap and was useful after using the molasses .

Got 2 different molasses' last week.

Feed grade
20L drum from Bernies Produce out near advancetown.
$26 for 20L/28kg drum
Spoke to the guy out there said they get their molasses from Broadwater sugar mill in northern NSW.

Food grade
Bundaberg refinery molasses at Campbells Cash and Carry in Nerang.
$22 for 10L/14kg drum.
Will need an ABN to set up an account with them but a piece of piss.

Thanks so much for the tip nuddy! Campbells at Nerang still stock those 14kg bottles of Bundaberg for $21 as of 2020. That'll make me a bunch of merry rum.
