Triple J Hottest 100

Postby Otago Elvis » Sat Jan 27, 2018 6:20 am

Well today is the 27th of January and the J’s are counting down the traditional Australia Day Hottest 100. Just that it’s no longer on the 26th of January :wtf: .....just wondering when this kinda stuff is gonna stop
Anyhow, what’s number 1? Have you got a top 10 in mind? Any thoughts? I know Zak has a history of nailing it :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I will start by saying we don't delve into politics on this forum.

Facts. Australia day was yesterday. Today is the Hottest 100 by Triple J (which I will be listening to).

The reasons why it is and wether you believe it's right or wrong are not what this hobby distilling forum is about.

On topic, I reckon LDRU and the presets are going to be up there, along with gang of youths and heaps of others that I can't think of right now :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I have no idea what was on JJJ but everybody knows that Khe Sanh is the unofficial national anthem and should be number 1 on any Aussie list

Today double J has the 100 from 1997, I will probably enjoy that more than yesterday.

Double J was the original AM youth network broadcast in Sydney under the ABC banner which started in the 70’s. In the 80’s it started broadcasting national to select local frequencies when local programs had finished so the ABC could maximise broadcasting with no dead air. Can’t remember if it was late 80’s or early nineties they moved from AM to FM then in the early 90’s shortly before changing to Triple J they started broadcasting in all capital cities except Hobart. Once changing from Double J to Triple J, the National broadcast footprint started to expand significantly into regional & rural areas of Australia. So the Double J call sign was then dormant for 30 odd years when it was used for one of the digital ABC stations, that also broadcasts over the TV frequencies, so with a digital TV you can listen to Double J. Best station available in my view, loads of 90’s music.
