6 months ago I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. At the time Dr sent me for heaps of blood tests too see if I had any other issues, pretty much tested me for everything but a brain.
The results were all perfect, no kidney or liver damage, no thyroid problems, blood pressure was in the acceptable range for a type 1 diabetic.
Monday just gone ( 6 months later ) I went for more blood tests too see if anything had changed. Today I had a follow up appointment with a diabetes specialist who reviewed the results, only difference was my cholesterol was up by one point.
He asked a few generic questions like, how's things been going? What is your attitude to your disease? Then what do you do for work? I said " I'm a concreter, doing heavy construction work "
Do you drink he asked. I said " yes I do, I have a few every night, probably go through 2 bottles a week "
He couldn't believe it, my kidney and liver function tests were both in the acceptable range, only thing I can put it down to is I haven't brought spirits since getting into this hobby, and since joining this sight I've been doing cuts.
Sorry for the long winded story, believe me its the short version.
