Did you make that Woody, what's it burning to be smoke free? Your distillers assistant looks very comfy beside it also

She's just having a bit of a rest while she waits for me to put the new element in.

I run it on diesel but can run on sump oil. It smokes a bit when you first start it up but runs pretty clean after that. I leave a door open when I run it so it doesn't get too fumey. I wouldn't run ot in my house or a small closed environment but for a shed it's bloody great :handgestures-thumbupleft:

We call them demon heaters. Hot as hell.
Burn on just about anything from avgas to sump oil. Might want to make sure your sheds well ventilated with a bit of roof clearance as well. They can stink a bit though.

Were im from we used to burn a wood called gidgee. We hit a 44gallon drum with an axe kinda even round circumference. Then bend one side in so incoming air was swirled bottom half of drum used to burn red hot lovely on a cold night. Used to semi melt the drum and it would sag outta shape. Man it used to burn hot no problem melting a beer bottle into a blob..

I made a couple of those gas bottle wood burners you were asking about. I kinda loosely copied ones you can buy called “Ozpig”. Also you can make them from small hot water tanks. I took out the flyscreen in one of the shed windows and cut a sheet of gal with 150mm hole in it. I’ve got a chimney with a dogleg in it that pokes out the window through the hole.
Tried to put up photos but they are too big I’ll try and sort it out. I am shit at computers.

Shortcut, are yta closet prepper?
Love the poor man's Interceptor :))

A little tip for anyone running an fire indoors - give it air from outside the area your heating. The fire needs oxygen to burn and normally it gets it from the surrounding air, which draws in colder air, usually from under doors and anywhere else it can (plenty of leaks in a tin shed), forming a hot bubble. Most people will have experienced this effect with a camp fire, you step out of the warmth into the cold.

So with a good amount of air to feed the fire, the warmth can spread more evenly into the room

With some creativity, what your making could double as a small blacksmithing forge

Thanks for the tip about air intake for the fire pit RC AI. Never really thought about it but it makes sense. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
