just a quick question fellow distillers. Done 3 gens of UJSSM and have approx 28ltrs of stripped spirits. For the next step am i best running through 4 plates or a slow run through a pot. Cheers and merry xmas and a safe and happy festive season :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I would run with 4 plates. When I do mine I don't usually stip, I just do single runs unless it's a neutral, I strip and then spirit run :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Maybe drop a plate or two? 1.5 spirit run? ie use some wash to water down with

It's only gen 3....

Halve it and try it out vs pot, every one has different tastes

I stripped in pot still mode for the 3 gens. I'm thinking 4 plates with a 40% charge. 4 plates should still give enough flavour?? Then i guess for aging i should use some american white oak staves ??

Or run it as a pot still then do some seperate through plates see which you prefer. I find plates = less funk...

Quick update went with the 4 plates. Went well nice nutty/buttery flavor carried through now gonna oak for 6months and add a slight maple syrup to 1 jar and see the difference.
