Half A Lap of Aus -How Store -

Postby wombat » Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:59 pm

Gday

We are hitting the road April/May - doing a half Lap anticlockwise - Vic - up the guts turn left at Darwin down to Perth - then back to Vic -
Tow Vehicle - 99 Patrol with van on the back - taking approx 6/8 mths -

Dont wanta take Demijohn's ( but would prefer as they have my oaked grog )-

Thinking a 20 ltr 304 stainless steel jeffy can ( .8 mm thick ) of 90% - then mix to unfortunately flavors
Found this can on ebay
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/19194942149 ... BMoM2s7K5h

Please hit me with ya thoughts - I might be mad and it could be dangerous but appreciate ya thoughts -

Hi wombat,

Stick it in a 19ltr corny keg, you can get 'em for around the same price as the jerry can looking contraption!

All the best on your travels, drive safe.

Cheers

I second the corny keg .
Small footprint , easy to carry around , 100% sealed and strong.
And , you don’t have to stick to the true corny ball lock , the pin lock are cheaper or there are the weird topped ones (Coke maybe) that are heaps cheaper

If you fill them and give them a shake , they will seal if the seals are good .
I do this all the time with nappy San

Update -

We eventually got going - Things changed a little - originally going up the guts - but inlaw bit crook in Perth so we reversed the trip and thats where we headed -
We are at Chidlow - Perth

The 2 cornys travelled well - had to take a suck on the plastic tube - all good - didnt get any 90 in the gob -
I had to weigh a few things up - cant take all me oaked stuff so ended up going with the flavour the female boss likes - just with water - Still spirit Top Shelf Aussie Gold Rum - Maybe here for another week - then head north via Geraldton -

Thanks again all for ya input - ^:)^
