From all indication on this forum and others - PET is not good for spirit storage. The alcohol leaches the plastics. Ok for beer due to the low alc %. Glass, kegs or barrels for storage. If using glass cookie jars make sure to remove the rubber seal.

I asked a while back whether a silicone seal (made from a baking tray) would be ok but not seen any response. similarly what about the rubber seals in a corny keg - no idea if it's safe or not - but I'm hoping it is as that's where I'm storing low wines.

Put some in glass then put some in PET. Leave for a while (day/week etc) and see if you can taste it.

If not your taste buds are probably as shit as mine and no problem :handgestures-thumbupleft: :laughing-rolling:

I don't personally store anything in plastic but smirnoff and jim beam sell their spirits in 200ml and 375 ml plastic bottles. I presume these companies have done the studies and deemed them suitable. I'm not encouraging the use of plastic, but I don't think it's as much of a problem as some of the dickheads on HD would claim and then berate the shit out of you for even asking.
