They melted a fair bit but I've ended up with about 10 liters of Slurpee mixed with 1.2L rum and dumped in demijohns in the freezer.

Yum Yum.

Well it wasnt an absolute bargin....payed $40 for it.....but I came across a nice little 10gal beer keg today, Id think old kegs that size are starting to get pretty thin on the ground.
Perfect for storing Rum or UJSM in....and ya can still lift it when full.....party pack

Scored some 3L bottles from Kmart for $3 each, they are a blue/grey colour and have a wide mouth that fits dominos perfectly. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Be mindful of the glass thickness!

Our glass jars all had a 'soft' spot as in section of thinner glass... Not saying this will happen to you, just be mindful !

Rum goes really well in an old port barrel, first fill will take port flavour very quickly so use first aged rum first fill and taste regularly. Second fill will be alot more balanced!
Or just enjoy a port barrel a nice sweet after dinner drink lol

Picked up two 100L beer kettles (2x kegs welded together on each, though one has some custom insulation around it) and a 50L insulated keg mash tun for $100. Might set up a 2v all grain setup and get a lid with a 4" ferrule welded into one of the 100L boilers when I've got some cash.

I would recommend bigger than 4" for cleaning purposes! I can't get my firearm thru a 4" so our boiler can not benefit from my elbow grease and my kids just aren't that in to it! :laughing-rolling:

That's for me! If/when I build another boiler, I have a 12" ferrule on my wishlist!
