You must be better with words than me Les :laughing-rolling:
The wifey wasn't too bad about it really, but the lowest part of the floor in the laundry is under the chest freeze. After trying to clean up a puddle a couple times now , it easier to have my own space. Ive changed my fittings on my still too.. haven't had a problem since.

My wife became much much more understanding once I provided her with excessive volumes of:
Baileys knockoff,
G-droppers of every fruit available,
Calla knock off;
As much neutral as she could want (and then some)... she had want for nothing!

Just saying....

I managed to get the last 4 litres of wash out the fermenter which was left over from Friday night and decided to strip it in my 5 litre potstill. So 4 litres of the wash and 800ml of feints from last run went in to improve the yield on the strip run. Got 1.6 litres to 80% off the strip so that made for 3.2 litres in the boiler for the spirit run. Watered down a half a litre of 90% to 1.25 litres and also chucked in a litre of 12 month old CFW for good measured and to top up the boiler. Just finished the run and hopefully those 50ml measuring jugs will turn up tomorrow so it make it easier to do the cuts after silly me dropped and broke the only one I had :angry-banghead:.

The bubbler is going to get stripped down and setup for a 4" potstill and the fermenter is getting some TPW next as I have totally run out of 90% neutral. Now rather than use bakers yeast I'm going to use EC1118 yeast as I still have a boat load left off that group buy a few years ago.

Cheers Bryan

^^^^^ Re-running it right now, everything is going well this time.

Originally I started with a very slow warm up since it's a spirit run and I had nothing to do all day so I was going really slow. Really slow. What happened was that my boiler(a full size keg) put so much alcohol into the thumper(also a full size keg) before it came on line that it was filled to the top and was puking. I had to have the heat all the way down and only get a drop at a time or it would puke. After 4 hours of drips and the occasional puke I had the heads pulled and shut it down. By that time the boiler was 1/3 full and in need of a top off, and the liquid was above the top of the keg and into the take of pipe! Today I started it up with proper liquid levels and heat and it's all going well. I learn something new everytime

Ah, I’d like one like that! Our 3x3 is just not big enough for a brief as Decs & lights... plus one or 2 of my tools..

Had to get a 20’ container for my hobby room...

Filled a new charred oak 20L barrel with Sundae Chocolate bourbon @ 60%. I plan on aging it until early 2022.

What’s your climate there like?

2 years in a 20L barrel will probably be over oaked by a fair margin. I would taste it at least once a month

HOT! A year in a 20L barrel is fine even here, but I'll check them at the 6 month mark to see how they're doing. Next summer I'm moving and will be bringing full barrels with me, they may be used for a housewarming party if they're ready and won't last another 6 months. No idea where I'll be going though.

Stripped down the bubbler this morning and the plate tree is soaking in citric acid to get a good clean and decided to setup a 4" pot still for stripping the TPW. Put the parrot I use for the bubbler and noway would it fit or work with the pot still :angry-banghead:

So duly got on to make a new 3-1/2" frustum for the output on the pot still and found some scrap 2" was just the right size and after cutting out the profile went to anneal it only to find I had run out of mapp gas :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: So into town to get a new one and got it all made. Now sitting in citric acid to give it a good clean and this week after work I'll run this pot still setup for the first time as I have 1/2 a fermenter of TPW that just been sitting there under the airlock for about 5 months.

Going the long way to strip this TPW and in the near future I'll have the new boiler finished so then just chuck both ferments in and a few hours later plenty of low wines.

Also at the scrappie the other day saw a heap of 6" SS pipe and reducers which is everything to make a 6" stripper and asked the price only to be told come back next week when the boss is here as he asked about you several times and he didn't stop raving about that last bottle of CFW I gave him :laughing-rolling:

Cheers Bryan

I have a bunch of barrels aging, but nothing to drink right now. I bought 50lbs of sugar before the lockdown, now's the time to use it. I bough 40 more pounds of sugar and 10 big bags of store brand Fruity Pebbles cereal. I made two 30 gallon ferments with 45lbs of sugar and 5 bags of cereal in each, with bread yeast. I have no idea what it's going to be like, but it smells incredibly fruity now it's fermenting.

Just running my 30L of grain whiskey through the still for its spirit run. Think I may have stuffed up. I added a few litres of water to it so it wouldn't boil dry. But about 8L of product in I'm starting to worry I didn't put enough and i don't want to waste the alcohol by not being able to get it all out.

Learning curve i guess. 8L and still 82%

No. Through my 50L keg Pot still. Now 12L in still producing 80%

Sorry, haven't updated my equipment in my profile.
