Its Friday so I'm drinking double rums and no sugar coke.

G'day Guy's,
Helped out SWMBO with the driving today so Mt Pleasant in the morning to drop off those dragon flies I made and look after the shop for a couple of hours then down the hill via Gorge Rd to see our new Grand Daughter born yesterday.

Well time to decant a bottle and I thought well the angels have had a good share out of the beaker so may aswell decant a bottle from that.

cfw beaker.jpg

Now it may be a tad hard to see but there is a label above the spirit and that was the level I filled it too. Dated 17/12/17 so about 8 months old and it came in about 54% down from the 65% I mixed it too.

filled a JD bottle about 3/4ers full and watered it down to arrive at 42% and having a sip :happy-partydance: smooth as going down a lingering taste of a top shelf whisky :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance:

Cheers Bryan

Shame to water down, B. Prime candidate for a bottle of barrel proof. ;-)
It’s been a long, cold, shitty winter here and I haven’t run the still for ages. Emptied a couple of barrels and run out of stock so bought a bottle of Sailor Jerry tonight. A drink I hoped to emulate when I first started this journey but a drink that now tastes a little weak. Good flavour (as in the spice profile) but thin and the taste dissipates quickly instead of lingering on the palate and mellowing like a well aged MacRum.

Not to mention I’ll suffer some sort of adverse effects in the morning :scared-eek:

So roll on the warmer weather!!

Coopers Pale Ale, soon to be replaced with Jack. I feel a bit ripped off, I don’t even have any of my own beer ready this weekend.

I must admit I'm a sucker for anything Coopers. I absolutely love their stout, on a cold winter's night it's good to sit on the couch with a few of them and watch the footy.
Aside from that I love the sparkling ale as a session beer :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yeah I would prefer the sparkling over their session ale, that shit starts tasting real weird after a few...

I like trying a lot of different beers, but I’ve only ever tried their pale ale & the mid. The sparkling ale by the looks would be a shorter session than normal for me...
I’ll have to have a look and see what they’re worth out here, as it is it was $60 for the pale ale

Thanks guys. I did a quick solder for my parrot that morning. It is a bit rough looking but it worked for what I needed. I've gotta build one with a drain and fix it on properly.

Yeah it tasted great. Heaps of flavour carried over. Going to do my cuts on Wednesday.
