100L of gen 3 BWKO with rye added. Time to test out the parrot now that Ruddy helped fix it for me. Fingers crossed...

Apologies Steve
Yes mate I take out the wheat and put in rye. I use malted rye because it was all I could get at the time.
Makes a very nice drop. The standard BWKO is a very nice drop as well. Nice to have some different options :)
Sorry it took so long to answer mate

Hey Rc Al sorry for the delayed reply.

Na just trial and error to start with, and I taste along the way as abv changes. With rum Its pretty easy, I go pretty wide on cuts as I age for a looooooooong time.

No problem mate.
Gonna try the original recipe first but I like the idea of a rye version.

Few days off this week so spirit run of about 50L of the first 3 gens of a BWKO (50% corn, 25% barley, 12.5% wheat & 12.5% rye) to free up the keg to then strip the 160L of FFV... finally, it's been sitting for too long!

Was 12 bottles of father in laws homemade wheat beer plus a bunch of different feints from the last 12 months - AG whiskeys, Rums, sugarheads / neutrals.

I wasn't expecting much but it actually come out damn good. This is definitely a white sipper. We got heaps of it too :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I was stripping due to the heat of the cooling water mate. Now it is getting cooler I will be able to start the bubbler runs again :). The tank sits in full sunlight and is only 2000 litres so I tend to panic lol.
