If i bought a drier just for drying grain... lets just say, i might need to go set up the camp trailer! :))
Inside is just a few wire racks out of a couple fridges. Cover them with a cotton sheet and spread grain on that. Stacked them up using bricks with a reasonable gap between each for airflow.

Nice one Dan. Now you just need to cross out Washer on the box and replace it with Dryer and you're set!

Not sure if this acceptable, but Buccaneer Bob has researched and written a whole paper on this process, with results on how much DP is still in the grain...

Mods, if this is not acceptable, please delete this post!

I had some dramas with my bottom plate not holding a bath after hearts started, seems I just didn't have it in the zone

I had a funny rum run this morning.
Plates loaded Star squeezing the fires of then dropped to 80%.
Full reflux again for 30 mins and back to normal, never had that before.
All good in the end.
Time for a rum or 10 :laughing-rolling: :obscene-drinkingdrunk:

80L of 40%faints from a ton of previous runs through the neutraliser. First 5 litres were trash. Took about 13L of reasonable tasting stuff after that before I got bored and shut it down. 3L an hour at 92 percent. Think I need a bit more packing in the packed section.

Revisiting TPW, dropped paste to 100g and added 5g dap (25l) - trying to loose some flavour. Discovered that winter is a bad time for experimenting lols. Still dropped 85 temp corrected sg, took too long as i didnt heat it... seemed much less red yeasty crap left in the bottom than the last one though, cold may have caused that too..

Doing second 5l strip run now, tang remains so far

50L SM spirit run, hoping to get enough to fill my birthday present. Time for a real comparison with the tassie distillery’s, same barrel they use. Just need to make a rack now. :happy-partydance:
