:text-+1: on all that Bushy,Bayshine & Urrazeb. yeah I don't think I gained a lot just yet till I do the cuts, but there was only about 600ml more product.

It was a long ferment too so I'm hoping the sugar didn't stress it too much I used EC1118 so hopefully it doesn't end up like a turbo, OG was 1080 FG .960

anyway it was a looong distilling process too 8-} with the 2" boka, but it is a sweet predictable unit that gives good ethanol.
Its all part of the journey.
I have another TPW that should be ready next week & I'm of to Aldi to get some ingredients for another TPW.
thanks for the feedback guy's
cheers

You could go to a bulk food place like cambels or the like and buy sugar in 20 kg bags. Their used to people buying in bulk.

Btw woolies isn't about to call the cops on ya, i think most that work there couldn't give a crap.even if they did they don't know who you are. If your worried tell them your feeding bees or making jam. There's heaps of reasons for buying bulk sugar. I just walked out of coles with 4 boxes of cornflakes, 4boxes of weetbix, 2 lowans yeast and 10kg of sugar, she was more worried about me pinching stuff and breaking the selfserve checkout that kept cracking the shits and beeping and stuff than what i was buying. :laughing-rolling:

Another btw coles has big boxes of cornflakes and weetbix on special at the moment :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hey Matt, are you going to store your wash in different cubes/containers once it's done?. The reason I ask is because I had an infected wash recently and I reckon it was way too much headspace once I'd taken some washes out of the big fermenter like yours.

Lucky enough the last time I ran my TPW I stripped most of it in one weekend although the last stripping run sat in my fermenter for 10 days before I ran it through my still.

The old olive drums are not airtight (especially after I put the aquarium heater inside) so storing the wash into seperate containers might be the way to go touch wood I havent as yet lost a batch due to infection.

There is a bulk wholesaler in port lincoln who sells sugar in 25kg lots, but Im a tight arse and the price per kilo is significantly cheaper if I purcahse it from Wollies 3kg at a time.

Gen 2 of my UJ and the smell of corn was coming thru nicely, scored a 5 litre vintage carboy so the Uj is going in that and getting stored for 12 months.

Yesterday 48 ltr TPW with 5 plates and packed section awesome with the exception of a doggy gate valve that I bought from the UK and was made there, bloody drips out the adjustment shaft so it goes ting...ting..ting on my boiler :angry-banghead:

So it is time to try out the flow valve hopefully better adjustment too.

Was that straight wash 1 2? Are you happy with the result? Is it destined to be vodka?

Yep straight 8kg sugar 2 tubs (the twin pack 140gm) tomato paste and 1/2 tsp citric acid and 80 gms lowans @ 48 ltr.

Result excellent by me :D

I am going to play, haven't decided lemoncello i what I want to try first.

Did another 47L TPW in the 2" Boka. There long runs from 430 am till 815 pm but was coming off at ABV 95% but not sure what temp the product was at.
Had a good run had everything in the sweet spot & didn't have to do much fiddling except for adjusting take off after letting it reflux at the end of fore shots, heads & somewhere near the middle of hearts. Took off 27 x 250 jars. :handgestures-thumbupleft: :happy-partydance:
I have been averaging about 3- 3.2 L of hearts thought I might list my last 5 runs & cuts
all washes are 47L TPW

wash #1 250 fore shots 800ml HEADS 3.2 L HEARTS 750 ML TAILS 14 HRS
#2 250 fores 900ML Heads 3.2 L HEARTS 1.3 L TAILS 20 HRS
#3 250 fores 1.6L Heads 3 L HEARTS 1.3 TAILS 14 HRS
#4 250 fores 1 L Heads 3 L HEARTS 850ML TAILS 15 HRS
#5 250 fores 1.2 Heads 2.950 L HEARTS 1.25L TAILS 20 HRS
Haven't done the cuts on today's run obviously.

I'm curious as to the variations to mainly the heads & tails but I'm sure it's just my inexperience in operating the boka efficiently & defining the cuts, but I'm happy getting the 3L average of hearts @ about 95% to play with & just hoping I'm doing reasonably at the cuts. all washes have had an SG around 1080 & have an FG around .960
hopefully learning as I go
cheers

Stripped 2x 40~L UJSM runs today. Took most of the day to do, so I'm thinking I might have to start my next build within the week.
Also came to realise I need a lot more glass ware. Haven't planned this too well, ended up using 700mL bottles for collection along the way :teasing-tease:

yeah I ended up in a similar situation over the last few days, got demi's, pots n shit everywhere from my rum strips, even my old 25L T500 boiler got filled. 8-}

Now just need to run it all through the bubbler which I'm itching to do, hopefully tomorrow I might get time for at least one run, or maybe even tonight if I'm allowed :D

I've been scouring the garage, kitchen, the tray of my ute (full of mysteries) and every other crevice to find more storage space for the strips. Didn't occur to me that I've got a 25L boiler (super reflux still) sitting on my work bench right in front of my eyes :angry-banghead:
Thanks for that Mac :handgestures-thumbupleft: Made me realize I didn't need to buy more glass just yet :happy-partydance:
