Bathurst - who's your tip?

Postby busman » Sat Oct 08, 2011 9:44 am

The big one is on tomorrow, who are our motorsports fans barracking for? I reckon we'll see Mr Lowndes on the top step of the podium again tomorrow afternoon. Dark horses - the Winterbottom/Richards entry will be strong, and if they can stay out of trouble keep an eye out for Van Gisbergen/McIntyre.

Cheers

I think Mr Richards will be too tired from running around in his Porsche :laughing-rolling:
Lowndes is my bet, but if its still raining it could be anybody.

Bring back Group C I say, these days its boring.
Who could forget the Chickadee Commodore with Grice behind the wheel leaking oil and still winning the race, or the Nissan sideways in the rain or the BMW passing everybody when the rain started, them was the days.
We need variation, all the cars are the same, parody has no place in motor sport.

lol, actually its not far off - E85 supplied by CSR

Andy, it'll be worse in a couple of years when they go to a common chassis, NASCAR style. I like watching the Improved Production and Sports Sedans on SBS on Sunday arvo's - the racing is fabulous and the cars are built in sheds by blokes who've never heard of PR agents and don't bother shaving on race day. As it should be :text-lol:

Christ it's boring now, the same teams winning all the time , don't get me wrong, I love the V8's but it's just got boring and with a common chassis the only thing that the factories will make is the badge on the grill
Bring back the good ol' days of Bathurst with group a,b,c,d,e It was the travelling chikanes that made it interesting as well as you could go to the dealer and buy the cars that were racing
My 2 cents

I tried to watch it but kept falling asleep, so went out to start packing up my shed and kept getting the shits :laughing-rolling:

So I came back in and fell asleep again until 6 laps to go, I'm glad I didnt miss the last 3 laps.

I was at work yesterday so I only caught the start of the race and a few bits and pieces here and there, I recorded it though and just watched the rest this morning, even though I already knew who won I was on the edge of my seat at the end
