Wow that’s a lot!

I think after doing the same on my first TPW I now have the drain facing outwards so I can see it - no hose!!

But AG is far more expensive!

Yep, my drain points onto my feet with no permanent hose so if it's open when I fill, it'll take no more than a litre before I figure out my mistake.

Sounds like you should pour yourself a double and sit back and enjoy what's left of the weekend as you're clearly not meant to be doing anything more complex atm...

We've been there!

Just popped out to the Dog-House to check on the Mongrel Kale wash and when returning the hydrometer heard a funny ‘clunk’... :angry-banghead:

Kegging a really nice dark Oat Stout just now, sterilize everything and turn the tap on the fermenter to start filling the keg and bugger me the tap just popped off the fermenter.
Lost about half the keg and now im cleaning up a black sticky mess from the floor and cupbards in the brew room.
New fermenter time before the next beer brew I think.

Every time I see a dark ale/beer I think “Wow, that must be tasty! Wonder what kind of Whisky that’ll make?”
But I don’t think too much flavour transfers over, or does it?

If this didn’t have hops in it , I reckon it would make an awesome whiskey
Edit to fix iPhone corrected thing (hops)

Yep I filled my fermenter on the floor to about half full with molasses and hot water, went to move it and accidentally stepped on the tap, turning it on! Cue the dreaded black sticky mess pissing out onto the garage floor. Luckily not much as I turned it off quickly. The only one of my fermenters with a tap too, dammit.

Note to self...Don't run heavily hopped beer in your still. A mate of mine gave me a couple of kegs of old beer that he wanted to get rid of. Alright I said, always wanted to experiment with beer if I ever fucked one of my AG beers up - hasn't happened yet. What a fucking mess it made of my boiler and my column, took me ages to clean the boiler out, luckily I hosed the column straight away. Anyway, the finished product has a heavy hop nose (at 92%). I'm going to chuck it on oak at 62% and bury it down the back of the cupboard. I don't hold much hope for it. Won't do that again :angry-banghead:

Another note to self. Don't leave your cut jars on your bench for a couple of weeks when you go on holidays. Bloody thieving Angels :angry-banghead:
