:text-+1: on that being a lucky escape.

Always shut your still down if you need to do any sort of hardware adjustment like that and NEVER run it without coolant running through the PC.

Time for an ibc and a pump! No more pressure issues!
Stainless funnels are dirt cheap on fleabay and they bounce.
Keep electric cables off the ground too especially plugs, if the 65% had spilt over a plug bye bye greenhouse. Extraction fans are brilliant if working in confined spaces as they'll keep ppm below explosion levels. You can still have a fire but you're likely to be able to extinguish it.
There's lots of potential dangers in this hobby but a little forethought and it's safer than driving to work.

Yeah these were earlier days, alot has been learnt since then. ive put alot more effort into my setup since. A pump is my next investment as ive got a great plan involving some old copper and a little water tank. just need to do some more research, learn more about my gear.

i live and learn with this. ive been pretty lucky but the more ive done this hobby, the more i need to be careful.

thanks everyone for the advice. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

True.

Apologies if I came across as a bit of a tool, didn't mean to. Was just trying to re-iterate the need to be safe.

I've also done that one bluc, it was pumping out enough alcohol vapour that I didn't unplug for fear of a spark. I went outside and shut the whole house power off and had a beer in the garden while it was clearing.

Problem with alcohol vapor is it's invisible. Something to be aware of just because there isn't steam doesn't mean there isn't alcohol vapor. Be very careful guys.

Fucked up.Thought i could use the 50t press at work to insert SS ferrules into 2"copper pipe. Squashed it, it only belled one side and went too far trying to straighten it. I'll have another stab this arvo. Shit photo.

To get a really clean round flare with my plumbing pipe expander, I usually anneal twice, a bridge too far in one hit with the press?

:handgestures-thumbupleft: Think I might have saved it. Cut the ferrules off square then run the oxy over the ends then had another go with the press. Put a heap of flux on as lube before I pressed the ferrules in. It’s not perfect and about 2” shorter now but good enough.

The second fuck up is, I left it at work :angry-banghead:

Came home yesterday after work ready to jump into the pool and noticed it was a bit low... put the hose in and set an alarm for 30 mins... or so I thought!
Came out next morning to waves lapping against the sore (I live 20Ks rom the ocean) ...

Some numpty forgot to finish the alarm and certainly forgot to turn off the water.. :angry-banghead:

Any savings I made this month will now go to Water Corp... and probably then some... how many kidneys do you need?
