Picked this copper range hood up for $20... There's about $60 worth of scrap copper there if I can't get $100 for it after a quick scrub!

Looks like it should be sitting on top of a boiler, underneath a still!!!

A somewhat novel design. Not sure about the "tuba" section at the top. Could act as very small thumper I suppose.

If the wider section above the sight glass is a condenser then it should be an ok reflux still but won't hit azeo (I'm guessing at this though). I can't see any water tubes though.

Otherwise if it's not a condenser then this is simply a pot still that will have more passive reflux than most others (which makes almost no difference overall) and it has packing (pretty useless if it's a pot still) and a sight glass (pretty useless on a pot still).

Also, looks like brass fittings either side of the liebig condenser, but these could be replaced easily.

Like professor said, not sure what that loop of copper before the liebig is supposed to do. I don't think it will help in any way. Maybe passive reflux will cause it to develop a bath at the bottom of the trap/bend and the vapour will be forced through that bath until the bath heats up again and boils away. I would imagine this would happen between fores and heads, heads and hearts and then again between hearts and tails. I think it would increase smearing.

Not worth $700 in my opinion.
