RC Al wrote:Not Gumtree, but a good bargain none the less, Coles has 40% off Pyrex this week, can never have enough measuring jugs :-)

Did the Sale of Pyrex Hurt the Crack-Cocaine Industry?
Corning sold Pyrex in 1998 to World Kitchen, which altered the makeup of the Pyrex material, making it less resistant to temperature changes and more prone to shattering. This, points out the Popular Science article, had a substantial impact on crack production:

[A]n entire underground industry was forced to switch from measuring cups purchased at Walmart to test tubes and beakers stolen from labs. Which just goes to show, if you think you know all the consequences of your decisions today, you’re probably wrong.

It’s actually illegal to own a still with a capacity greater than 5L

Im not sure its worth it for a few kegs and a dead fridge ? i know theres 3 80l kegs, but crap they aint worth that much, the rest of the gear will be cactus after 10 years of disuse?

I spotted this the other day though
https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/nudgee/ ... 1190762572

Im not sure they are worth it to any of us either - probbably ok for mashing, but none of em have a top as a boiler....
Im on the fence on these.... maybe a good group buy if ppl are interested? guy wants $500 for all, he may split by now - its been up for over a week

Not gumtree but still might interest someone. I have no idea if it's cheap or not just saw it and thought I'd pass it on.

Same here... my mate is a organic farmer and uses molasses on his crops in place of certain chemicals and is happy to give me some when i need it.
At least it should be free of preservatives i would think.
