Ive used out of date yeast with no issues. Even in brewing beer I used US-51 yeast that was a year out of date and I didnt know. The beer was fine

I am currently brewing a TPW with a wine yeast that expired in 2010, it is bubbling away nicely ;-)

It has been refrigerated the whole time which would help :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Im with sam
I have use a few out of date yeasts without problem..

If you have any worries, make a starter and let the yeast multiply first. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Most yeast packets will contain some active yeast after expiry. The amount will decrease with time.
Providing there is "some" active yeast, the yeast will multiply as per normal.

Yeast are pretty hardy, in 18 months ive only used 2 packs of Lowans... A little sprinkle on top and they always take off. Just don't cook em ;)
