Bad luck mate, I also had a rum wash turn to vinegar, I still ran it but ive kept it aside, I was only on gen 2, I did a bit of reserach on infections and came to the conclusion that the bacteria is always airborne, when we pitch the yeast if it doesn't start off within an 24 hours ie creating the gas, expelling the oxygen in the fermenter is how the bacteria is killed due to being areobic ( can't survive without oxygen). Well thats what my conclusion was any way. :think:
I used the beer brewers sterilize and started again without any other Infection
