It actually came with instructions from SS that tell you to use carbon filtering to remove impurities, so that indicates it's turbo-ness.
If you are going to use it I would recommend pitching half the packet for a 25l wash instead of the whole thing and keeping the temp at the lowest end of the recommended range. I was using one packet for 50l and still had trouble keeping the temps down because it goes nuts and trust me, if it gets too warm it stinks just like a turbo.
I would go with the safspirit range or even US-05 or another ale yeast would be a better alternative.

I have been using US05 with pretty good results I just thought I would go for a yeast strain more for whisky
Sigh might have to buy one of these

I just use the Safmalt yeast.

But there is a very nice, creamy smelling spirit in the middle of good hearts. I have 5 litres at the moment of hearts only settling on port chips with a small amount of vanilla bean, it's at 55% and only a few weeks old - it's pretty decent already.
I've also done a version of nutri wash with good results from a single pot mode run - a lot better than expected.
I'm on second generation ferment of nutri now.
My CFW recipe is 2 days out from being ready to run.
I am going to concentrate on these three recipes for the foreseeable.
