How's it taste?

I've done a couple of washes now using 6kg white sugar and 20-25 litres of dunder plus lowans yeast. No water.
Tasted the first lot the other day after about 6 weeks on charred oak. Pretty good results, a bit lighter than a wash with molasses but has a bit of depth and richness to it.
Has anyone else done this?
I only do it coz I always have too much dunder sitting around (I only usually use 20-25% in regular macrum washes)

It's 100% petroleum bi product plastic, and I couldn't give 2 shits about it, because all recent studies show that ethanol doesn't dissolve plastic unless it's bio plastic. That old study that y'all keep blabbing about is outdated and false. Just like that "MSG is bad for you" crap. MSG is a protein and is better for you than salt.
Rant over
It tastes more like vodka than rum. Very smooth though.

Have another read of
our policies on plastics suede, if you want to use plastic that's your decision but don't preach otherwise here.

What was your PH on this wash mate? If it worked out for you and the final taste was good, then why bother with water and less dunder?

Hey guys, quick question as I can't seem to find it already asked. What sort of specific gravity should Mac rum have at the finish? I started with 1.06 ( I think) and it's stalled out now at 1.04... is this normal or should I be seeing closer to 1.00?

You got anything to measure ph? :-B might be fine could just be yours has more unfermentables. If you cant measure ph and its def finished on 1.02 run it, see what you get. What molasses is it btw?

when you open the fermenter and look it still has tiny bubbles appearing at the surface but the s.g has only gone down from 1.04 to 1.035 since monday

When you take a gravity reading 2-3 consecutive days and it hasnt changed its finished. Will ferment slower in winter..

I understand about the colder temps / slower ferment... but, in C.Q. it really only goes from fu*ken hot to not hot... we really don't know what winter is here. we might get to single digits but only for a few hrs a day the rest of the day we're in the mid to high 20's
