Hi All
I am another newbie to this hobby.
I have been researching and reading for a few months before I really got into it.
I bought a Turbo 500 boiler and the Still Spirits pot and reflux stills. ( the package price was very attractive).
So far I have done an all grain rye whiskey with barley and corn , Have stripped it and have 13 lt of low vines for the spirit run.( it was a double batch).
I got involved with my brother and I am looking forward to a rewarding and hopefully a very tasty hobby.
I have a heavily peated all barley whiskey fermenting at the moment and also have a sugarhead wash going with about 3lt of backwash from the first batch.( to make a very neutral spirit ie.vodka)
We are hopping to do an all corn mash very soon in a 60lt fermenter on the grain.
Looking forward to learning more and more.
I have almost finished my boiler controller setup ( I am an electrical contractor specialising in industrial control systems) using a couple of temp controllers and a ssr and a phase controller as well as 5 contactors.
I am setting it up for expandability and had most of the gear in stock or sitting around.
Great to be here.
Cheers..
