Gday from WA

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Gday from WA

Postby OzSki » Sat May 12, 2018 12:41 pm

Hi all,

New to the forum but have been lurking and reading all the wise info everyone has to offer for a while. I am a farmer and in the middle of seeding atm so plenty of time for googling, ordering parts.( Auto steer is awesome :handgestures-thumbupleft: )
So I have ordered all my copper parts to build my 2" pot still which will be going on top of a 50L keg I already had from beer brewing.
Will post photos of the build process. When I get off this bloody tractor.
Cheers.

Cheers woodduck. Bit of precipitation would be nice.

Hey bluc, at the moment the drink of choice is gin. So I can see a gin basket in the build shortly. But am also partial to scotch on the rocks or a rum and coke. Depends on the occasion but definitely a heavy juniper gin at the moment.

Welcome OzSki!
You must have bigger paddocks with less trees over there. Autosteer is great but the ends of the paddock still come too quickly when i have a quick look on the forum.
Have fun building your first still... i doubt it will be your last once you get the building bug! :laughing-rolling:

Cheers Dan, from the look of the amount of stills and the time and effort as well as the constant discussion on improvement I'm sure I won't be running out of idea's anytime soon.

Welcome to the fold. What do you farm? You say seeding, you could become a very close friend to many on here :laughing-rolling: depending on what you are growing... :laughing-rolling:

Stick around, the learning doesn't seem to finish, just a new piece of the puzzle appears that you need to explore...

  :happy-partydance:

Any opportunity for Millet? Just for interest sake... Hope we don't have to buy by the ton!

But really, despite that, welcome even if it doesn't work out with the grain! That is like the cherry, on top of the cream, on top of the cake, if it comes off! :handgestures-thumbupleft:

20000 acres is having a fair crack!
I hope your getting more rain over there than here... we're cropping on very marginal moisture.

Hey guys, malting variety is called Scope don't know what it would be like. You can have as much as you want if you organise freight :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Dan, no moisture at all here either the whole program has gone in dry so far with no subsoil moisture. Next weekend looking the goods though..

Cheers all.

No Millet in this year. Just finished harvesting the barley and went bloody awesome. Into canola now, but sitting at home with a rum because it's started bloody raining. :angry-banghead: Not a chance of finishing by Christmas now.
