Theres a fair difference in recommended dosage between the 2 products though - the brewshop one wants you to use heaps more - money grabbing or its way different for wine??

Not sure how long it stores but could use as fertilizer in the garden.

I emailed them and they were unable to help me...

May not be a money grabing exercise so much as different concentrations of active ingredients...

I get mine from Enoltech. $73 for a 25Kg bag.
It doesn't go off, my last bag lasted about 6 years and worked every time, even if it does go hard from moisture getting to it.
I use 100g for the first 3 days of a 200 litre TPW ferment and then another 100g for the remaining ferment. Never had any off flavours.

I just bought online another lot of DAP from Enoltech. They no longer do the 25Kg bags, they are now 8Kg bags and cost more per kilo.
They haven't updated their website yet.

I ended up buying my DAP from LANDMARK RURAL. from memory it cost $8 for 25kgs.

Its in small balls. I simply crush it and use it in my wash when required. It works a treat.

Id like to know how the trace elements differ from Food Grade to non food grade.

Im sure the trace elements would be the same, it's the impurities I would be more concerned about.

I'm sure the processing plant for agriculture DAP fertilizer would not pass food standards.

If it doesn't bother you then don't worry about it, but I personally pay the extra for a pure product.

+1 on that.

Go for food grade if you can

Have a look around Darwin for Distilleries, you may be able to buy off them?!?! Just don't let them know that you intend on distilling it! :law-policered:

I use Anpros https://www.anpros.com.au/

Goods come quickly and well packaged. They have a range of food grade chemicals for the wine-making industry plus lab glassware, filter paper etc.

Cheers
