All good there. I was planning in 12mm anyway. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

RIght, I think I know where I want to take this, so I'll probably head into one of the technical sub-forums and start a thread there.

Muchos Gracias for the welcomes, and the very helpful advice.

Botanical basket! I'm sure there's a few posts around the place on them.

Thanks for the possibility of a solution, @woodduck. I'll have a gander inside there at some stage. I have been spraying wd40 in for a day, and just gave it the heavy treatment again with the hammer. Nothing.

@Professor Green, cheers. I had the thought of an inline, removable canister right before the condenser. Something that attaches with tri-clamps...

Here's some pics of an inline botanical basket setup to help you out Shano.

The basket receiver sits on the reflux condenser with a tee on top of it like this. You would hang an elbow with your product condenser off the side of the tee.
InlineBotanicalBasket1.jpg

A cap on the tee facilitates changing of baskets:

The basket has a perforated base and a handle that is long enough to reach somewhere near the top of the tee without hitting the cap.

The receiver has a perforated plate that the basket sits on.

The top of the basket does not cover the tee outlet so the vapour can escape freely.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I have been painting and painting and painting, ad infinitum, so it seems...

Thank you for those great pics @professor green. That makes things a lot more clear. My first thought was to have one inline, prior to the PC... removable via tri-clamps. Much more to read...

Hey Prof.
How would I set this up on the Neutraliser?
4 plates and put the basket in an emptied packed section?
Then use an all feints run?

I’m not sure if this would work or not.

Sorry for the thread steal.

I'm not saying hard and fast rules two tees or empty packed section....just use these sections so Carter head clears boiler :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hmm, I don’t have a carter head(yet) and not enough hearts of anything.

Looks like more research and brewing required.

Does your neutralizer have a blockhead or 180 bend?

180 bend makes it bit more difficult blockhead you can use basket without carter head. Have look at top of mine(see my sig) is a blockhead put in full reflux open top drop in basket seal it up off you go...

Yes mate, on the other hnd she is very understanding.

So, if I set upp a couple of empty T’s and put a basket in an empty packed section above that, then the 180 down to the PC and ran a 20-40% hearts based wash(tp or wbab) through it should that work?

I’m after clues here not definitive answers. :)
