Howdy

Postby Hava » Sat Nov 23, 2019 2:02 pm

Hi guys,

Longtime since I've been back, took a much needed break from the mini distillery in the shed but kicking it back into gear again now. Too mush 5* product and dollars spent out there not being used aka 6" Pacemaker with neatural column extension on a 100l boiler!

Any how, the main obstacle at the present time is thick layers of oxidation on the bubble plates, which has been scrapped off everywhere however I can not scrap the inside of the end caps. I have read that cleaning runs will remove this, but im hoping to be able to soak in a solution that will soften the blue oxide and be able to wipe it out by hand. Are ethanol / methanol off cuts from old runs the best for this, something else, or just suck it up and run old product through as a cleaning run.

Also what the hell, no American Oak mini stave #4 group buy? :scared-eek:

Soak in citric acid will work then run heads or some other cheap booze through to clean it up :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Glad to see you found your way back!
