Yea all I use is a 12 volt flojet pump which is connected direct to my 5,000 gal rainwater tank then I put a return back to the tank at roof level in my shed along with a non return valve to prevent siphoning back. I bought a $10 DC controller and found I can run my bubbler on about 35% with the controller.

Na mate the DC controller is a voltage controller and I found running it on 35% gives enough flow to cool both the RC and PC. The beauty of using a DC motor is the lower the voltage the lower the flow but one does need a decent pump to start with.

Its arriving tomorrow :D :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance:

Did some sanding on the keg with an orbital on p180 grit.
It was a bit too rough for my liking but then the grit ran out and i was left with a smooth sanding disk that worked quite well when i put some force on it
WIll post some photos when i get the still assembled
Still (pun not intended) havent got any welding done yet and ive got some parts coming in tommorrows delivery
So keen :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance:

Thanks for all the help and the information on this forum
Smashing stuff :text-thankyoublue:
Cheers peeps :obscene-drinkingdrunk:
P.S
That power controller for my basic pot is amazing andrew!
Does so much better than a PID
Just did a peated rum and its very interesting
its at 50% ABV with 33.47g toasted french

I used 2L of fermented out peated wash (that was 50/50 distillers barley, medium peat barley), 4L (3kg) food grade molasses, 3kg raw sugar, 1 tablespoon epsom salts and 2 tablespoon tomato paste. I used 3L of backset from a previous run.
Ran it and collected 16 250ml cuts
Aired it for 24hrs after

Ended up with jars 1-3 being headsy, jars 4-6 grassy / fresh/ not very rummy. Jars 6-8 were like a rum peat hybrid :D and everything else up to jars 14 being really BBQ peat! :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Ended up with 3 and a bit liters of 50% spirit on 33g toasted french dominoes.
