Is Alcotec 200 just yeast?

Postby snibs » Wed Apr 22, 2020 11:15 am

Morning all.
I normally use good old Lowans from Coles in my TPW but it seems to be a bit hard to find now, scored a couple of the Alcotec 200 packets and was wondering if it can be used just like Lowans? rather than using the whole packet will 57 grams do the same job in my 20LT wash but just take longer? if I can get two brews out of a packet at the expense of time I will.
Thank's for any thoughts.
Cheers.
Mick.

3/4 fill 20l bucket with ya wash add 57g yeast to that when foaming like crazy add that to big wash. It will multiply the yeast before adding to big fermenter..

To answer the question , no it’s not just yeast .
There must be a bunch of fertilizer in there but they don’t list all the ingredients .
As Bluc says just rehydrate and have at it.
I remember back in the turbo days splitting a pack 4 ways and it worked fine.
