Sparky Needed

Postby The Stig » Wed Jun 10, 2020 5:15 pm

Hi Everybody .
So, we are looking for an electrician to fit out the new shed. Seems our long term friendly sparky went and had a stroke the bastard.
If your legal, local and willing please reach out .
We will need:
Electrical from existing house to new shed. It’s about a 15m run.
6 LED lights (we will supply) on 1 switch, 5 x double power points (2 need to be on their own circuit of at least 30amp) and we will need a circuit board.
Shed is 6m x 5m.
Cash waiting for the right person.
Cheers

Start digging the trench and it will be a lot cheaper for you. Know what to do but not licenced for domestic, work only. Can advise. There must be one here, surely?

The only trench as such will be about 2m from house wall to shed, the rest of the run will be inside the house.

2x30 amp points or 1x30amp circuit?

600mm trench If it's in heavy duty conduit, 500mm is the coverage depth; if it's covered by no less than 75mm of concrete this can be reduced to 300mm.

There should be marker tape half way above the conduit. Conduit should be bedded in 50mm of sand all around. Keep it at least 100mm away from gas/phone/stormwater/sewer/water pipes.

Cable entry points to buildings should be permanently marked if they are not obvious.

AS3000 is your guide, I recommend 2 X 6mm (parallel) over the distance to reduce voltage drop. Flat three conductor cable not round in 40 mm conduit, would likely fit 25mm but might be hard to draw.

Get your sparky to confirm, qualified but not licenced.

Thanks Chippy, I’ve got a local quote that’s a little lower , not by much your close, I only need the 1 30amp but 2 plug .
@magnus, I would rather give the cash to a fellow “brewer” rather than anybody else but if all else fails there are others .
I have also asked on our 5star Facebook page .
We are probably a week away from need omg this done.
