Silcone Seal for 50 Litre milk can

Postby Ned » Mon Sep 07, 2020 2:54 pm

Any suggestions.
4" Neutraliser with 50 litre milk can
The large white silcone seal, will not stay in the lid/

reducer that sits on top of the milk can.
It looks like it has stretched a bit, push it up and it just falls out the other side.

I thought it might have stretched but no, same size and the new one.
So I got out the new one, same problem,

Won't stay in the channel,

Any help would be appreciated.

In the finish I had to undo one of the "T"s affix the reducer and clip it down and than reconnect the "T"

I have always in the past just un clipped the lid/reducer on the milk can and lift the whole rig off.

Ha Ha you still remember me getting things upside down and back to front. :text-lol:

Yep flat surface onto the milkcan.

The issue has only just started, possibly down at least 25 runs. I thought it might have stretched.
Got out the new one and same thing
Would the lip around the lid/reducer expand outward, so that it does not hold the silicone gasket in ?

Could be the weight of the rig going on and off and the constant change of temp has splayed the lids lip a little.

I think I got it sorted.
Got the multigrips onto the rim and gently bent it in towards the middle slightly

It did help, but I think I will keep the silicone seal in the freezer going on the theory that everything shrinks in the cold weather :text-lol:

Just don’t over do it because you will get to the pint of no return and the lid won’t fit any more

I know what you mean. I had my pint :text-lol: after using the multigrips and I was very gentle with them.
