Gday Mac
i'd like to grab a weldless element kit.
i'm just starting out and have my 50ltr keg with a reflux still.

is this element suitable or do i need to go with the keg king replacements.
Thanks

yes the weldless kit is suitable, they were designed to replace the dodgy keg king elements that keep failing ;-)

Hi Commoo,

for the weldless element you'll need a 32mm hole, just make sure any burs are filed smooth so the seal sits nice and flush to the keg wall to prevent leakage ( LBL :laughing-rolling: )

Cheers.

How well do these elements work for boiling wort for beer production? Are they ULD elements? What are they made from?

Cheers

Hi aydo01, welcome to our forum.

The elements in this topic are ULD & made from SS 304, the 1" BSP thread is brass.

These elements would be fine for beer I think, I've never personally used one for that purpose but I've boiled some pretty wild wash/mash with them for distilling ;-)

Cheers

Ive used them for Beer , below is my mash tun. It works well and my FSD element is direct to the wort ,,, unlike a rims or herms. To do a hot break boil a full 50L keg does work with a 2400w element, but could do with some more power ... you would be better off getting 2x2400 then reducing the power on both so you can have a lower watt/cm on the element or at least a 3600w. Only due to the boil,,,, the mash temps it works perfectly. Hope this helps

All I can say is wow! ^:)^ I don`t know how you can make much of a profit on them, they are awesome! :D And they were packed so well i thought you must have thrown in some fine bone china :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:
Many thanks :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance:

Many months ago now we switched nine of our boiler elements over to the FSD kits and guards, after relentless running day in and day out, these are without doubt the best elements we have ever run with...firstly they do not sag over time as some of the others do. They are as straight as the day we bought them. We used to burn through elements regularly, that we have not had to replace one of these elements speaks to the quality of build and the thickness of the element case metal. I believe that you could not buy a better element, and do not mind endorsing a product that works...these are the real deal. I am a happy distiller.

Hey linny, what do you use to turn the power down? Do you have a link to a PWM or something that you would use?

Those could come in handy,

I searched for months to find stainless versions of those (look exactly like replacement elements for hot water heaters)

All the ones I found were chromed copper which our washes would strip right back to bare copper. Nothing like adding of chromium in your liquor. :puke-huge:

In the end I just bought some of your current stock ones, love 'em. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
