Hi this is how I packed my FSD neutraliser.
500mm 4in column
I got lucky and had access to a heap of pure copper mesh, you don't need full copper packing but a bit more copper won't hurt hey? :handgestures-thumbupleft: I like the idea of having confidence in a full copper packed section though.
The mesh I had access to was 100mm wide, it was a woven stocking, quite common and seems to be the standard size/weave available.
It came in a roll and I stretched it while rolling a tight "scroll" 4in in diameter.
Roll until its a good fit, you need to ensure it is tight at the start of the scroll or you can create a void or a weak spot as far as packing is concerned. I rolled this until it has a little resistance when being pushed into the column
I then trimmed a section of stocking about 300mm, flared it out into a cylinder and placed the scroll inside
Then I twisted each end of the wrapping like a lolly and pushed it into the tight centre of the scroll to create a slight dip
I then checked for fit
