Brussel Sprouts & Broccoli

Postby DonkeyBrains » Tue Aug 02, 2022 12:08 pm

Hey folks

I have decided to mix these 2 for some unknown reason and the results are positive so far. Normally my Kale wash takes 2 weeks to stop bubbling but this mix stopped in around 5 days. I have not run it through the still yet but will give it a crack on Friday. Has anybody else used these as a wash before? I followed the Kale wash concept. The laundry did smell like fart gas for about 2 days but the taste of the wash is pretty good.

Kale, brussel sprouts and broccoli are all in the same family, so any of them should work nicely as a yeast nutrient. I'm using collard greens, which is very similar to kale. Anything from the brassica family is a safe bet, I'd say.

Let us know how it tastes in the end, I'm curious whether any cabbage flavour comes through.

Ha, I read the title and thought that’s gotta stink. My earlier kale washes suffered the same problem.
Can’t say I would ever think of trying Brussel sprouts. Broccoli for sure. Especially if I was growing it.
