Hi all,

Just finished fermenting a 25lt wash, it`s been going crazy for 4 days, tested it with the hydrometer and it`s showing 0% alc in the wash, it smells and tastes like alcohol, could it just be a dodgy hydrometer? Probably a silly question, but thought i`d ask.

Cheers.

Are you sure you’re using a hydrometer and not an alcometer?

Can’t use an alcometer in a wash , you can only use a hydrometer

Then you will need a start gravity and a finish gravity to work out the alcohol content if the wash.
Best to just run it

If it doesn't taste sweet, run it. Your still will have the final say.
