Appoligise if this has been asked several times before.
Onto my 3rd TPW, with success in the past.
my fault for not taking any ph levels or anything along the way.
Just checking after about a week, stiring occasionally ( thats another question - How often should it be stirred )
It had cleared and settled, and smells a bit alcoholic ( good sign I guess that something positive has happened )
There has been a few how days, so potentially it could have got close to 30 degrees ( sitting at 26-28 now 0
So I stuck the Hydrometer in and .....it fell short of the green line.
Suck the alccometer in also to have a look - showing no alcohol.
so any advice if this batch is.
1 - still fermenting ?
2 - saveable ?
3 - Future advice ? ^:)^ ^:)^

Leave it a while longer and check again with hydrometer , an alcometer will not work in a wash only on finished spirit .
Or, as I do, just stick your finger in and see if it’s sweet , if it’s not she’s done :handgestures-thumbupleft:

And it’s harder to smash a finger than a hydrometer :laughing-rolling:

hard to say, tpw & FFV usually gets over the 'green' line.
wash looks as though it may have finished fermenting & probably in the cleaning up stage.
leave it alone for a few days and test again.
i leave mine for at least 10 days.
i've never stirred a sugar wash, no need to, and the easiest way to introduce an infection IMHO.
you say the temps have varied, maybe you should look at some way of controlling the temp.
yeast is not fond of temp fluctuations.
build an enclosure, use an old fridge, inkbirds etc etc.

She tastes sweet - Ill check in a few days :)

If the temps have dropped you could wrap a blanket around the fermenter to warm her up a little.
When I did TPW I always left it 2 weeks or more just to be sure
