Sugar wash info and questions

so hear i am sitting around and i get wondering..... what would happen if i take 30 lbs of sugar, 1lb of yeast and ferment this in 24 gals of water. of course the sugar would be dissolved? :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbdown:

You will need a nutrient for your yeast, either DAP or tomato paste or anything with cereal grains in it.

If you don't have a nutrient it won't ferment out properly

There are some good ideas in the tried and proven section

+1 on guys advice. Spend some time reading a bit it will all fall into place.

Just a comment on the idea you posted, in addition to a food source for yeast as Sam mentioned it's a fairly low yielding wash at those rates and could well do with a re think.
Also pure sugar washes are a little harsh .."heady" smelling and sharp tasting. Wouldn't be a first choice for many.

Anyway have a read, decide on what you want to make, pick a suitable wash with good proportions.
