hi all just a thought has any one tried golden syrup in a rum wash just a thought

Don't know if it would be worth it. More flavour in molasses and it is heaps cheaper.

probly so but wouldnt the sugar content be higher then cattle feed molasses i think thats were the syrup comes from first grade molasses i dont know

Never hurts to try something new. I remember reading on one of the distilling forums that 1.5kg of molasses is equivalent to 1kg of sugar. I guess that also depends on the grade of molasses.

I have used it, its good but I feel brown sugar gives more/bettter flavour for you buck.

im in cane country so i might check out mill , crushing starts soon see if i can get the good stuff from the mill :think:
