Building a reverse flow sparge tun

I had this idea to build a one pot grain based setup and had looked all over for ways to achieve the heating and cooling in one vessel.

I looked at the Willams Warn but decided I would need to scoop out my brains to live with it. And completely no flexibility.

and then found this funky german setup the "Speidel Braumeister".

You have got to love those germans for their engineering. Perfect to do beer for drinking and beer for scotch distillation.

And the idea fitted the stainless steel stock boiler that was sitting in a mates farm shed. Bingo! A bit of swap trading and I am in the brew kettle conversion business.

Now for the 500km around trip to recover the stock boiler from the said farm shed! :angry-banghead: and he had 4 copper "Coppers" to help with the pot still construction.
