Blue Corn Whisky, Bucket 2 Bottle!

Postby Blinky » Thu Oct 06, 2022 4:30 pm

Hello lady’s and Gentlemen!

Another stupid project begins, just when I thought I couldn’t squeeze another thing into my life the little voice in my head said “come on mate, you can do it”

So last year I bought about 200 grams of blue corn seed, turned that into 12kg of blue corn seed! So I will now rinse and repeat.
1.2km worth of row’s in the ground and a very sore back! I hope I even like drinking blue corn whisky, maybe I should have bought a bottle to try before :laughing-rolling: anyhow stay tuned folks.

& i thought my Hopi Blue corn last year wasn't too bad at 300 plants. You've blown mine out the water! Haha how are you planning to ferment/age it?

The “idea” is to have some sterile corn wash in jars placed out in the plot while corn is growing, find the best jar of wild yeast, propagate it, test it. May sound a little long winded but I have done this many times and really love the spirit I get compared to a shop yeast. As far as ageing, that will sort of depend on the amount of spirit I get but if it’s enough, this project should be worthy of a 50L barrel if not I got some really good tank stave’s for a demijohn. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

We need a “rubbing your hands together in anticipation” emoji
Ears are filling in nicely, kernels are turning glassy blue.
Shouldn’t be more then 2 weeks of growing left :happy-partydance:
