How have your experiments been going maheel?

This is what I want to do, but you've got me worried seeing as you're a beer man and aren't impressed with what you're getting out

Hope you get something you consider worth aging soon :handgestures-thumbupleft:

no luck thus far

i did not oak the last batch as it just seemed not worth it.

the batch that puked up the still i have on oak and it does have some whiskey flavor but i am not sure if any is coming from the spirit or just the toasted oak
it also has the puke taste that is the background flavor of the wash :puke-huge: (a bit yeasty )

i have the bag of peated grain still so i will have to pull my finger out and mash that...

Not all grain so mods please move if needed but doing a stripping run of a light dried malt extract wash and it is coming out like this

The first lot was a puke but now it has settled down and is still coming out looking like beer what the fuck?

Any ideas?

Hi S_A_L,
it is probably just residual puke in the still ;-)
dont toss it, you can add it back in for your spirit run :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I have the same problem as Mac at the moment and have a fucking cold. My smell isn't good at the best of times so no idea! Think it will have to wait for the spirit run for any conclusive results will keep you posted frank
